NARAL PRO-CHOICE AMERICA

NARAL Pro-Choice America is dedicated to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom for all Americans including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing abortion. We lead member-driven campaigns that drive political and cultural change. 

As the design manager, I provided creative direction and design for print, digital, and video across the organization.  I was also responsible for related project management to meet strict turnaround schedules and budget constraints.

Some of the most significant projects I worked on were:

• Researching and developing content for a timeline website celebrating NARAL’s 50th anniversary

• Working with organizing and government relations teams on the Reality of Roe campaign to mobilize members to lobby state legislatures

• Creating a suite of digital assets to promote launch of the best-selling book The Lie that Binds and its accompanying podcast.

Reality of Roe

In 2019, NARAL doubled down on state legislative campaigning with Reality of Roe a national campaign to educate people about what access to abortion truly looks like in their state and across the country—and what they can do about it. In a year when anti-choice politicians launched attacks on reproductive freedom in unprecedented ways—criminalizing abortion and punishing women—NARAL members led the way, fighting to protect and expand abortion access and demonstrating that we are the majority: the 77% who support the fundamental right to reproductive freedom.

Across the country NARAL members: took 50,000 online actions, made 14,000 calls, sent 2,000 postcards, and hosted 215 events in their communities. At the end of the campaign, eight states had passed priority legislation: NY, NV, WA, VT, IL, ME, RI, and CA—with five states passing bills to safeguard the legal right to abortion, and five states expanding access.
